What roofs in Houston deal with

Houston is the largest city in Texas, about 2.3 million people, and only 42.1% of homes are owner-occupied (Census ACS 2020–2024). That means a lot of Houston roofs belong to landlords and investors as well as homeowners, and the person who signs is often not the person who lives under the roof. Every page of our proposal is written for the person who was not there.

A re-roof inside the City of Houston needs a permit and an inspection, unlike unincorporated Montgomery County, where the county says no permit is needed. The area we work in meets the city on the north side: Greater Greenspoint, Aldine, Kingwood and the Lake Houston area. Houston also took the 2024 derecho and Beryl within two months of each other.

Texas Property Code §202.011 limits how far an HOA can ban wind- and hail-resistant shingles, but architectural review can still be required. Get your HOA's approval in writing before the job.

How we work in Houston

  1. Maintenance first. If the roof has years in it, we fix the parts that fail and keep it going.
  2. Repair if needed. A leak gets its source found and fixed once.
  3. Replace only when the roof justifies it, and we prove it with photos.
